Ellen van Neerven

Ellen van Neerven is a Yugambeh writer from South-East Queensland.

Their first book, Heat and Light (UQP, 2014), was awarded the 2015 Dobbie Award and the 2013 David Unaipon Award.

They have published two collections of poetry: Comfort Food (UQP, 2016) and Throat (UQP, 2020), which won the Kenneth Slessor Prize for Poetry, the Multicultural NSW Award, and Book of the Year in the NSW’s Premier’s Literary Awards.
