Bob Wurth is a Brisbane writer with a long-time interest in Asia Pacific. His early journalistic career was in Sydney and Papua New Guinea.

He joined the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1966 and in 1981 became a foreign correspondent for the ABC in Asia. In 1985 Wurth was appointed radio news editor for the ABC in Queensland, then state radio manager, and finally state manager for radio and television.

In 1994 he was outposted as a news consultant to the South African Broadcasting Corporation just prior to the first democratic national election in that country.

Wurth left the ABC in 1999 to write full time, and his book Saving Australia: Curtin's secret peace with Japan was published in May 2006 by Lothian Books.

His other work, Justice in the Philippines, was published by ABC Books in 1985.
